We have started our unit on Media Literacy. Students will learn about movies, advertisements, plays, documentaries, and news media. I know this will be a fun, engaging unit your student will be excited about!
Here are some upcoming projects your student should be working on:
The first project for Media Literacy is creating an iMovie Commercial.Earlier this week, students worked in groups to create an advertisement for a "fake" product using different advertising techniques. Beginning today they will begin PRODUCTION to advertise their product in a commercial.
Students need to make sure and bring their iPads, fully charged, everyday to school.
We also have an ongoing group book project that will be due in a few months. Details for this are on Google Classroom.
Things you should know as a parent for this project:
- Students should have a fiction book that they are currently reading. I would encourage them to read at home. Discuss the book with them.
- Any poster-boards that could be donated would be greatly appreciated!
